Poppy seed

Am I too ignorant or??? While searching on the internet as to how to convert foreign driving licence in Singapore, I learnt that poppy seed shouldn't be brought into singapore?? Poppy Seed!!! I love poppy seed crackers, bread....

After some searching, I realised that eating foods with poppy seeds (e.g. bagels, muffins) can cause someone to fail a routine corporate drug test!!! Uh-Oh....

One of the news I found was that Marks & Spencer was forced to pull poppy-seed crackers out of Singapore. Poppy seeds contain traces of opiates, and that's bad in Singapore so out it goes.

Got to make sure I eat what I like before heading back Singapore...(sign)

Sweetest melons

Bought 5 melons at 78 pences each from Tesco but realised that I was charged 98 pences each. I know it's not a lot of money but I felt cheated.

No queue at customer service counter so I went ahead and told the assistant that I was overcharged. It turns out that the promotion ended on 16/07/05 but they had not revise the price on display.

The price of the 5 melon (total 4.90 pounds) was refunded to me and I can keep the melons!!! Tesco policy...... You bet I will be shopping at Tesco more.

Bargain

Went to Gap this afternoon to ask about the price adjustment for one of the bag and was told that the bag is now only 3.97 pounds!!! Can't believe it that the saleperson refunded me 6.02 pounds. Definitely keeping both bags now. Bargain!

Gap is my favorite store now.

The concert of the year

The gates at Hyde park was open at 12pm and the concert starts at 2pm. Saw on the news that there were people queuing overnight but realised we will be too tired the next day if we do that so we decided to be there early the next day. We were there at about half ten in the morning but already there were mountains of people!!
Squeezing through........

When we finally got in, we went straight to the souvenir store and grabs some T-shirts before finding ourselves a great spot. Didn't really fancy squeezing up front with no where to sit so we grab on this plot of land and mark our territories by spreading our things wide! (hehe!)

2 brave souls not knowing what they got themselves into with the concert from 2pm to 11pm (9 hours!!), a difficult route to the toilet and the adventure of finding back your location from the toilet break...

We can see the artist on the stage from our location but they looked very small so most of the time, we rely on the big screen in front and at the back of us.

Towards the end of the concert, I was getting very restless and tired... Fortunately, Robbie William & The Who were there to liven things up (PS : Those who don't know The Who, their songs are the theme for CSI). Although I'm not a fan of them, I must say that they were one of the best artist of the day. Great songs and atmosphere!!

We stayed until about 11pm and decided to go before the concert ended to avoid the crowd. The road outside Hyde Park was closed and no transport was available so we walked home. Tired but enjoyable day, all in the name of Live 8

Thinking of whether to buy the parking sensor from Halford. Costing 99 pounds but I will have a better piece of mind.

It's been all over the news today about the incident in London.

Hope that's the end of bombing and everything is back to normal soon.
